Getting a Library Card

  • Davis County residents are issued library cards free of charge.
  • Weber County residents may also get a Davis County library card for free due to our reciprocal checkout agreement with the Weber County Library.
  • Utah residents outside of Davis and Weber counties may be issued cards for a $65.00 annual fee.
  • Out of state residents are limited to checking out two items at a time by leaving a refundable cash deposit equal to the price of each item plus $4.00 per item. The non-resident fee of $65.00 will be charged upon the third use of this privilege.

1. Fill Out Online Form

  • Follow the link below to our "My Account" login page.
  • Click on the words "register now" to access the form.

2. Visit a Davis County Library Location

  • A temporary number will be assigned to use for 30 days after registering online.
  • This number will only give access to placing holds on physical materials.
  • After 30 days, the number will cease to work.
  • Visit a library location to get a full access card before the 30 days expire.

3. Show Two Forms of Identification to Staff

The Davis County Library requires two forms of ID:

Picture Identification
Examples include: Driver's License; Military ID; Student ID; Sam's Club or Costco Card

Identification showing current address
Examples include: Driver's License (if not used for Picture Identification); Current postmarked mail; Current Utility or other bills; check book

  • Patrons are legally responsible for all items checked out on the card(s) for which they have signed.
  • Parents and guardians may choose to alter the limitations for their minor children or dependents at any time for no charge. 
  • Lost cards may be replaced for $1.00. Please report lost cards immediately.
