Biking and Birding along the West Davis Highway Trail

Discover beautiful scenery on a paved path that offers over 10 miles of biking trails along the eastern shore of the Great Salt Lake.

Description

As the sun rises over the Wasatch Mountains, discover the scenery of the West Davis Highway by bike, a paved path that offers over 10 miles of biking trails along the eastern shore of the Great Salt Lake. Bring your energy and enthusiasm for an adventure combining biking and birdwatching! The ride will head northward, covering approximately 8.5 miles to the Bobolink spot near Kaysville Elementary School before turning back. This leisurely-paced ride allows for frequent stops to observe and identify birds along the way, making it a perfect outing for nature and biking enthusiasts. Pack plenty of water, a lunch, and all the essentials for a rewarding half-day trip. The trail provides fantastic opportunities to explore shoreline marsh habitats and observe birdlife. Our goal is to identify 75 species along the way. Based on the participant feedback from 2024, this trip is a favorite and an absolute blast. Don’t miss out! Join the bird ride!

*Trip participants are required to provide their own bike and helmet.
